>> For those of you who don’t know the Rochester Contemporary Art Center, also known as RoCo, it is a nonprofit gallery founded in 1977 and was built to express creative thoughts and ideas. The gallery presents both well-known and emerging artists from New York and around the world. RoCo started First Friday, a Rochester event where galleries and studios are open to the public from 6 to 9pm on the first Friday of each month. This space is for collaboration, education, appreciation, and exploration!
Rochester Contemporary Art Center's international small art phenomenon returns for its tenth year! Help us once again build an incredible exhibition of thousands of artworks made and donated by celebrities, designers, college students, international and local artists, children, and YOU!
RoCo has opened submissions for their 6x6 exhibition to the public. What exactly is the 6x6 exhibition? Each artwork must be 6 by 6 inches (15 by 15 centimeters) or mounted to a 6-by-6 inch board. All artworks are displayed anonymously, so they should be signed only on the back. Each artist may enter up to four artworks of any medium (2D or 3D), and there is no fee to enter. There is a four-artwork limit per elementary, middle, or high school. Artworks exhibited both in the gallery and online until July 16, 2017, and all will be on sale to the public for $20 each to benefit RoCo. Artists' names will be revealed to the buyer upon purchase and sold-out artists' names will be revealed next to their works online July 7.
Don’t miss out! The last day to submit to the Rochester Contemporary Art Center's international small art phenomenon 6x6x2017 is April 16th but we encourage you to send them as soon as you can! <<
