>> The second magical night of Alternative Buffalo’s The Kerfuffle Before Christmas was just as spectacular as the first. The killer lineup for this show included: Saint Motel, Borns, and Jimmy Eat World. All three bands exceeded expectations and knocked the holiday socks off of everyone in Buffalo Riverworks this past Wednesday, December 6th.
Saint Motel was the first to perform. It was their last show of 2017, and they went out with a BANG! In between jamming out, AJ Jackson, the lead singer, took the time to make a beautiful speech about how their long tour has inspired them and changed them for the better. Later on in their performance, he proceeded to climb the stage speaker scaffolding while singing like a badass. It is still to be determined whether or not it was inspired by Barns Courtney’s performance on night one.
Borns was next to grace us with his presence. The crowd exploded with screams, hoots, and hollers when he came out on stage. This tall, thin man transfixed the audience with his mesmerizing vocals. It seemed like everyone was singing along to each and every song. The fans could not get enough and Borns basked in the love and appreciation. It was a beautiful experience.
The crowd grew during each performance. By the time Jimmy Eat World finally took the stage, the huge, full venue felt small. The band started by singing their new hit, “Sure and Certain,” and everyone was singing along and vibing. Each of the band members except for Jim Adkins, the lead singer, were standing under actual street lights while performing. It was surreal. Most of the fans there grew up singing along to this music on the radio, and now they were singing along with the band in real life. You could feel the nostalgia in the room. The Kerfuffle Before Christmas made dreams come true.
There is one more night left, and it is this Sunday, December 17th. For the final and third night, Lovelytheband, AJR, and Cold War Kids will grace the stage at Buffalo Riverworks. We couldn’t be more excited! <<
