>> On Tuesday, September 25th, Sylar opened a kick-ass hardcore show at Anthology in Rochester, New York. They, as well as Knocked Loose, were brought on as direct support for Beartooth on their “Disease Tour” promoting their new album, Disease, which came out just three days after the show. If you haven’t heard of Sylar yet, you better hop on that train now before they make it huge. These rad musicians from Queens, NYC, have been on a steady grind for the past seven years producing studio albums and touring the world. They are industry leaders in reviving the genre of Nu-Metal, which was started by the likes of Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and The Deftones in the mid to late 90’s. Combining elements of punk-rock, metal, R&B, and rap, Sylar’s music is eclectic and filled with passion. Their live performance on the 25th certainly did not disappoint. Although a majority of the crowd was there to see Beartooth tour their new album, it was obvious that fans had been converted by the end of Sylar’s set. Frontman and vocalist Jayden Panesso dominated the stage with his energy and engagement and had the crowd jumping and screaming along with him. This band has a has an incredible live sound and stage presence you do not want to miss, so be sure to catch them on their next tour. Check out their brand new album, Seasons, just released on October 5th.
