Danish-born, New York visual artist Signe Rudolfsen utilizes her abstract figures as a "tool to spark conversation and reflections” while stimulating the viewer with her use of various materials, vibrant color patterns and shapes with acrylics. Growing up around her dad, a locally well-respected painter and skilled hand-craftsman, resulted in her learning various practical skills at a very young age and expanding her canvas to multiple mediums. She is fascinated with the textures and history of the various material she uses; an old mid-century cabinet or beautifully woven fabric, she repurposes it and leaves parts exposed to show it’s history. From canvas and digital art prints to hand-painted earrings and clothing, it’s obvious she doesn’t limit her self or the viewer.
